Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Hotel and room were very clean. But the missing star is because the room had no shower.
A disappointing stay, which was a surprise as I have stayed here and the Derby sister Hotel across the road 20+ times.
Unfortunately front door and room code not emailed to me, 50 minute wait at sister hotel as no access, pleasant but not overall helpful and no real apologie as no access to the other hotels systems.
Eventually able to gain access to a room up with the gods room 15 , cosy but bathroom shower area not at all accessible as a bath no screen and a sloping roof , unable to shower only good for bathing.i have to say this is unusual and maybe there were no other rooms available .breakfast as always was superb.
Great customer service in all areas, very friendly/helpful staff (restaurant, reception, house keeping)
Guest room was lovely at good price
Will be very happy to book again
Beautiful hotel for our 2 night stay, Excellent breakfast included across the road in a sister Hotel. Clean comfortable room with excellent tea coffee facilities.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Room was comfortable but carpet needed cleaning, cobwebs on ceiling and a dirty cup. We would prefer a staffed reception and maybe a bar/food in the hotel.
A wonderful and individual hotel. The Kings Room was just amazing, full of character and history. A lovely breakfast and the staff were very helpful.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
We booked a hotel rather than a just an apartment or room as we were expecting a serviced hotel as a treat and paid accordingly. There is no reception, no bar and no catering other than at the neighbouring property, just a 4 digit number supposedly to open the front door and room, it didn’t allow access to the room, which caused some anxiety. Fortunately someone answered the out of hours emergency number and was able to give us another pass code. The room was not serviced, nor were the tea/ coffee replaced. There are notices and instructions setting out some of the limitations at the premises but only after the booking is confirmed. We didn’t have any significant issues with the room or premises which would have been fine given the historic nature of the property. I don’t wish to arrange a long weekend away adding to life’s regular hassle. Needless to say we won’t be returning.
Lovely hotel, with masses of history. Stayed overnight after a wedding. Two rooms, The smaller one had cramped shower/toilet room, but comfortable enough. The larger one was fine. Breakfast taken in the sister hotel was excellent.
Lovely hotel and the staff are fantastic the lady on reception when we checked in was so nice. Room was lovely and clean and good selection of teas and coffee. The jacuzzi bath didn’t work unfortunately and we found the bed a bit to soft for us but thats personal preference. We usually stay at the sister hotel across the road but actually prefer this one. Highly recommend and booking to go back in July for our daughters graduation.
Absolutely wonderful anniversary 6 nights spent at this hotel. Steeped in history, beautiful furniture.lovely sunny garden and furniture, breakfast at the sister hotel great. Staff were always friendly and helpful particularly the young 17 year old receptionist, really mature and helpful. Great location to walk to the beach, town or Boscombe. The room was beautifully decorayed and the whole place had a cosy feel even with a lounge and access to tea etc plus tasty biscuits. Highly recommended.
