"From the moment we arrived we felt that The Topside was a special place…..perfect for our 1st visit to Maine.
The staff was exceptional, the Inn itself was inviting, comfortable, and luxurious in an understated way.
Breakfasts were relaxing and delicious.
We could not have asked for a better place to be."
"The Fisherman's Wharf Inn was just as portrayed on the website and exactly what we were looking for—a chance to stay right on a working harbor, surrounded by wonderful places to eat and a charming little town to explore.
When we first arrived, we enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the harbor, where one particularly photogenic fishing boat caught my eye and became the subject of a favorite snapshot.
The front desk clerks were a wealth of knowledge about the town and the Inn—take their advice and visit Waves for breakfast. You won't be disappointed!
Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for much of our stay, but we appreciated the convenience of the on-site restaurant and still managed to wander through town between the raindrops."
"Property is being updated. Breakfast was great. Hot products served. Clean Property. Staff were kind. Plenty of parking. Quiet. Great location. Dog friendly with wonderful walking trails next door. Pool looked super nice and well kept. Too cold to enjoy. Stayed in October. The room was clean, however, wasn't quite finished being updated. Shower was still old and shower curtain was tattered. Chairs were stained. Still had old smell. Overall, a nice Property. Renovation is looking great."
"The only criticism is the bed was not comfortable…as if the soft topper was missing.
We’ve stayed in a different room (American Eagle) and the bed was so much better. (Luxurious). We will stay again, but if the bed is as we experienced on our latest visit, we wouldn’t book again. Everything else was exceptional"
"Very centrally located with beautiful views. The restaurant does not serve breakfast and the service is a bit slow, so just be prepared. The staff were helpful. Also be aware check in is not at the Inn but rather down the street at another location. We had to ask a few folks before we found the correct spot"
"This was my fourth year staying at the Midtown Motel. I love it here, close to all that Boothbay Harbor has to offer, yet very peaceful and quiet. Yes, the motel is a very old fashioned property reminiscent of the the 1950's Era, but this only adds to it's charm! I hope the new owners keep it much the same as they venture forward, as so many historical inns and hotels are being bought up and completely overhauled, and their pricing reflects that. The rooms are very clean, and the staff are very personable and caring for the comfort of their guests. I definitely would recommend the Midtown to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown area."
"The room was clean. The bathroom is outdated, but functional. The hosts offered breakfast and it was very good. They were also very friendly and gave helpful suggestions for places to go and eat. On-site parking is a big plus!"
