"Booked because of the spa, such a disappointment. Tiles missing out of the steam room, only noticed as it wasn’t working, not one shower in the spa area working, had to go into changing rooms to shower down after sauna etc. water fountain not working. Changing rooms not much better, locker had key code locking, difficult to find one that actually worked, hair drier not working either. Such a shame it’s being run down as could be stunning."

"We stayed just one night. The price was cheap so we didn't expect much. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. There was an issue with the toilet on arrival but they quickly changed our room. There was a noise which I couldn't work out what it was an when trying to sleep did disturb an bit but I eventually dropped off. Breakfast was lovely everything you couldn't possibly want. In the evening we sat in the bar and watched the football on a huge screen. The bar was cheap and didn't charge stupid prices which again was great. Some bar snacks but they were not so great. Overall a good nite away in lovely well maintained grounds. Would I stay again.. yes if I needed to be around that neck of the woods again. "

"I was moved to holiday inn as Ramada was closed I had chosen it because my friends were in the mercure opposite. This was a mile away so inconvenient "

"They seem to be in the process of updating renovating the hotel but the room was clean comfortable with a nice view of the Wrekin. Only issue was the tv which had poor reception."

"It is a wonderful historic building, but very run down . Some parts, eg the listed ballroom is closed needing roof repairs. Threadbare carpets, although bedding and towels changed each day there was poor bathroom supplies. I believe it is for sale. So fingers crossed because it’s in a good position with a car park. No resturant, or bar snacks. There is an excellent Spanish tapas restaurant round the corner.m and Peaberry a few yards down the street great for breakfast. "
