"I always enjoy staying at this hotel when I travel to Staunton to attend a show at the Blackfriars Playhouse. It’s right next door and centrally located to everything. It has a big parking garage and I just park my car there when I arrive and do everything on foot while I’m there. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Staying here is part of the formula that makes up my perfect getaway weekend. "

"It was rustic. We loved the ground level entry, the kitchenette was convenient (though the freezer in the refrigerator didn't really get my cold packs cold enough) the bed was comfy, the enlosed patio was great. We enjoyed watching the river and all the birds. It was a lovely stay overall. "

"We stayed for 3 nights and it was a nice hotel. Not too big or small, and completely renovated with tasteful decor. The pictures online are accurate. We had a room with a view of Pigeon River and there were terrible storms one night we were there and there was even some flooding in the parking lot. The diligent staff called us to move our car (which wasn’t really super flooded) and then began getting the water out and cleaning the parking lot. I was impressed at the care taken of the grounds...
