"Nice hotel with many dining options within walking distance. Breakfast was okay quality and plentiful. It’s a historic building so expect quirks and creaks. Staff are very nice! "
"Helpful & friendly staff. Great food. Cleanliness was excellent. Very comfortable bed. Perfect Hospitality with daily cookies and water supplies to room. 100% service."
"Very quiet location with great access to everything. It was very comfortable and relaxing. I recommend this property to those who are value conscious and appreciate the simple things in life. "
"Lovely cottage, nicely decorated, great bed and spacious. Hosts went out of their way to get us wifi, which was difficult to purchase. Wifi though was weak throughout our stay (we were on 8 down, 2 up for 3 gig). Kitchen had all the dishes and pots needed, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, one dish towel, no dish cloths, no paper towels. Would be nice to have a few more have more amenities, that we have experienced in several other cottage stays (condiments, dishcloths, etc). Being a close walk to...

Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Coopmanhuijs while in Stellenbosch. It was fantastic! The staff was super friendly and acommodating. The restaurant was outstanding. Our reservation included breakfast and we were able to order off of a menu and/or opt for the generous buffet. We also ate dinner at the restuarant and it was beyond delicious. (Springbok carpaccio!) We don't usually relax in common hotel spaces, but everyone was so welcoming that we did spend some time in the lounge by the fire. We met some other guests who were super interesting, and I felt like I learned a lot about South Africa culture as well. Thank you for a lovely stay!"
"Previous reviews vary and it is fair to say the property is fairly dated and could do with some work, HOWEVER, the charm of the property and the exceptional service make up for this and more. We are well travelled and have stayed in some exceptional hotels around the world but the friendliness and especially the service was as good as any.
After booking our three night stay, i asked if they could book a nice restaurant for our first night and albeit a busy friday they booked a table at the fat butcher which was excellent. They also provisionally booked restaurants for our other two nights, as a fallback.
They recommended and then booked for us a superb private wine tasting with lunch.
Although it is not particularly central in Stellenbosh, we found Uber no problem and cheap, except on one occasion when we found it difficult, however after a call from the restaurant, the hotel picked us up at no charge..
Even at breafast when i asked for something they didnt have, without asking someone went to the local shop and got it for me..
As I said,, the service was excellent. A really nice experience, the hotel itself not 5 star,, however the service was more than that and we would have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending it..
Thanks guys."
