Fantastic location- had been worried it may be a little noisy bit it was absolutely no issue at all. Super comfy room, best sheets and shower ever!! Used the pool area which is quite small but enough, and enjoyed breakfast outside most mornings- lovely. Great assistance from all the team there but stand out colleague Shane- great tips and recommendations and a really genuine nature about him. Would absolutely revisit!

Delightful Boutique hotel in a great location for getting around. Will definitely return, the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble.

I cannot imagine a better stay...

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Coopmanhuijs while in Stellenbosch. It was fantastic! The staff was super friendly and acommodating. The restaurant was outstanding. Our reservation included breakfast and we were able to order off of a menu and/or opt for the generous buffet. We also ate dinner at the restuarant and it was beyond delicious. (Springbok carpaccio!) We don't usually relax in common hotel spaces, but everyone was so welcoming that we did spend some time in the lounge by the fire. We met some other guests who were super interesting, and I felt like I learned a lot about South Africa culture as well. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Quaint Hotel - Great food and location!

The hotel is in a very classic building could have been turn of the century. The restaurant - Helena’s is on the premise. Very good food on their fixed price menu paired with delicious wines. Everyone is super nice and helpful. Given the opportunity we would return. Worth a stay. So quaint and lovely to stay.

Everything was perfect, from the beginning with communication and organizing a spa visit and half day wine tour. The staff was amazing and took care of everything with great care. From check in to check out everything was perfect . The food was off the charts and they even made accommodations to allow us an early breakfast due to an early flight from Cape Town By far one of the best places to stay and highly recommended

Amazing staff! It was our anniversary during our stay and when we arrived we had a bottle of champagne on ice in our room as well as a fruit and chocolate platter which was so lovely! There was however water leaking from the toilet so we informed the staff - They said the maintenance guy had finished his shift for the day but said there was another room available which had a balcony if we were happy to switch. We moved rooms and this was much bigger! Very happy with the service from staff and lovely boutique hotel with a great breakfast selection!

First Class Service from the second you walk into the hotel. The staff are exceptionally well trained and operate as a real team in every aspect. World Class ! The location is perfect for walking around Stellenbosch. Although parking is limited outside, the hotel’s concierge/valet service is excellent. Food in the hotel at Helena’s on the patio and breakfast inside was also easy and very yummy ! Rooms and amenities fabulous. This is 5 Star everywhere.

Our room directly above the residence lounge made you think they were in your room ! Unfortunately we wouldn’t return to this hotel

Wonderful stay in Stellenbosch

We enjoyed our stay in Coopmanhuijs. The location was perfect right in middle of shops and restaurants. The room was on the small side but very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Besides a good buffet spread, they also served an a la carte warm main. All the choices were excellent. Restaurant in the hotel was also very good. We had dinner one night and enjoyed it very much. Service was amazing. Reception, bell, housekeeping and F&B staff were all fantastic. Valet parking was complimentary. Neil who parked our car and carried our bags was very efficient and friendly. Jonathan at the front office was very helpful and thoughtful. Everyone was just nice!

Charming boutique hotel in the perfect location

Really enjoyed the stay here. Beautiful period property in the perfect location. Staff were all super friendly and warm. Our dinners at Helena’s were a particular treat. The room had an old-fashioned, but quaint and charming aesthetic that perfectly matched the vibe of the hotel. My one complaint would be the WiFi; which was super unreliable for the duration of our stay. It would regularly drop out for extended periods and when it did work; was very slow. Despite this one issue, I would definitely stay here again when we hopefully return to Stellenbosch.

An outstanding hotel where you are made to feel like royalty from the moment you arrive. That entails free courtesy parking which, given how busy Church Street is, was most welcome. Our room was spacious and our bathroom huge, we've had smaller bedrooms. Everything you could reasonably want was provided in the room , which was immaculate. We ate in the restaurant twice. The first time our main course was lamb shank, which simply fell off the bone, accompanied by an excellent local merlot. On the second night we ate off the "set" menu, there were at least three choices for each course, with matching wines served in generous glasses. I had wonderfully tender ostrich steak and my wife Kingklip. There was an extensive breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, cooked meats and cheese. There were also a range of hot options. My eggs florentine were particularly good. The best feature of the hotel was the staff who were unfailing friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and they were always happy to help you. We would genuinely think about going back to Stellenbosch just to stay here again.
