"Good choice at breakfast but cooked element not hot . Room was good and shower facility great. Hotel right in the middle of City centre - easy walking distance to key attractions"

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was quiet (despite this, I'm a very light sleeper and forgot my earplugs, but the staff were able to give me a replacement pair), room was in full working order, clean and fresh. Shower was excellent and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty too. It was my second stay at this hotel, and I would come back again."

"Great location and reasonably comfortable but the rooms need attention. The bathroom was cramped and outdated, the shower was poor and the extractor fan didn’t work. There was no air conditioning in the room and the windows only opened sufficiently for a little ventilation. A fan is provided however. The bar and adjoining lounge was lovely - it was very picturesque with the river view."

"Absolutely loved our stay. Check-in was simple, staff were helpful and the hotel has clearly been renovated recently to a high standard. Breakfast was up there with the best I've ever had in a hotel. Also cracking view over the town and beyond from the Skybar in which the breakfast was served. We also ate on the Sunday evening in the Pickled Sprout restaurant. Again, everything we ate we really enjoyed. (Would love the French Onion soup recipe. It was the best I've ever had). The location of the hotel cannot be faulted. The town centre is more or less on your doorstep and Betty's is literally across the road. We'll be back in Harrogate as soon as we can and have no doubt that we'll book The Yorkshire Hotel on our return. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay memorable and enjoyable."

"Mostly fine, comfortable stay, however, there was a strong smell of sewage in the bathroom, particularly when I was using the shower, which was quite unnerving. Also, the dinner I had in the restaurant was a bit disappointing; the steak was tough and the chocolate melt pudding didn't melt... it was served pretty solid and not very warm. Not really what I would have expected for the price of the meal. Other than those two things, everything was fine; nice room, good location, big TV came in handy for watching Eurovision!"
