Hotel Jungfraublick Wengen
8/10 Good
"We chose the forest room which overlooked a gorgeous chalet hotel. It was a peaceful atmosphere and we could sleep with our window open at night. The deck restaurant was lovely on our first nigh. I would recommend doing an RSVP as other travelers frequent the deck for dinner. They do seem to prioritize those staying at the hotel but you just make a reservation as first come first serve. Breakfast is lovely with both hard boiled and soft boil eggs, salami&cheese, yogurt, fresh bread ,fruit, coffee/tea/ovaltine/juice. We were happy we stayed in Wengen where it was quiet and much less touristy. Let’s talk LAUNDRY. It is CHF10 for 1 wash and 1 dry. ***NOTE; There is only 1 washer and 1 dryer which is a bit of an issue. *** the person on front of us had stuffed 2 baskets in. When our turn came, we set a timer to come back earlier than the dryer was set for. When we returned, someone had removed our items early and they were still damp. I used the hair dryer on several items as we had to pack them away for the trip. Trains and travel was not a problem. We used the Swiss Travel Pass with 1st Class and it was worth it. The hotel will pick you up at the train stop at the bottom of the hill, which is a huge saving with luggage. NOTE: hotel transport does NOT open until 8:00am. We had to leave at 7:30am to catch our train out and had to wheel luggage back down the hill. Overall, our stay was very nice and Wengen is a beautiful place to stay."
Sunstar Hotel Grindelwald
10/10 Excellent
"Superb!"
Hotel Kreuz & Post
8/10 Good
"Literally perfect location steps from Grindelwald train station and directly across the street from the bus station. The staff was wonderful from check in to restaurant. My daughter injured her hand during a bike ride and they provided a huge bag of ice for her. The stay came with a free bus pass and discounts for different excursions cable cars and Glacial canyon. The restaurant has a great menu as well. The room was a little hot but they provided a fan which helped. We would definitely stay here again."
Eiger Lodge Easy
10/10 Excellent
"Since it was summer, the warmer temperatures meant that we had to open the windows to allow air to circulate and keep the room comfortable. This unfortunately also meant that noise from the surrounding areas was more noticeable. One thing we could have done differently was request a fan earlier. We only learned that fans were available and requested one on our last night, so we were unaware of this option during the earlier part of our stay. Our room was adjacent to the restaurant and cafeteria. Although these areas were closed, some guests continued to sit in the eating area and chat until around midnight. We found the noise quite disruptive, especially when we were trying to sleep. We had assumed that 10 p.m. would generally be considered a reasonable time for quiet hours. As a suggestion, the hotel may wish to consider implementing a clear quiet-hours policy after 10 p.m., particularly for common areas located near guest rooms. A gentle reminder to guests to keep conversations and noise to a minimum after 10 p.m. would help create a more comfortable and restful environment for everyone. Overall, we appreciate the efforts of the hotel and hope this feedback can help improve the experience for future guests."
