"Loved the location, the room was very large and very clean. The hotel smelled so nice, staff were very friendly, and loved that there was laundry facilities! The room itself wasn't super equipped (no coffee machine or toaster but thats very normal for EU), however the coffee machine in the lobby worked great, and honestly didn't use the kitchenette much, mainly to store items in the fridge. Very comfortable room!"
"This is a great location for Bergen and the low-priced self parking is a huge benefit in an area with little parking options. The staff is also especially friendly. The room is clean and adequate but can be noisy and stuffy on warmer days. A small fan is provided but you likely need to have the window open which can add to the noise and temperature regulation issue through the night. There were some minor maintenance issues in the bathroom (slow drain in shower, toilet lever needed some adjustments intermittently or it would stop working, and the hand soap dispenser was not functioning.). A mini fridge would be a nice addition to the room (it looks like it probably had one in the past). The internet was quite good and reliable and the work desk very appreciated. It could use some updates to the outlets at either the bed or desk to accommodate USB demands. The bed, pillows, sheets, and towels were extremely clean but also very minimal in size and quality. All serviceable but not quite comfortable or exceptional in anyway. The mattress was very clean but is also a foam style mattress, which may give some trouble as it runs a little warm and is not as supportive as traditional ones. The breakfast is basic but reliable and plentiful each day should you choose to use it. The property is walking distance from almost everything in central Bergen, but because of the factors above is likely best for a shorter stay vs anything beyond 3 nights."
"Although it's in the west of the city it is very easy to get to on public transport. The room was big, the shower was excellent and the restaurant was really good with plenty of options."
Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station by IHG
8/10 Good
"Excellent location, near every thing you need like restaurants, supermarkets and the train station
But there is no iron and the table in the room, so I asked them to provide one and they ask me to come to take it from the reception"
"Attractive waterside location and easily accessible from Centraal Station using the 48 bus to Koivistokade (although there seemed to be nowhere to buy tickets for the return journey). Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-equipped. The only problem I encountered was a system error relating to add-ons to the booking. Shortly before the stay I received a message offering a range of extras and chose the buffet breakfast but this request was not registered and I had to re-book breakfast on arrival with the help of the front desk staff. Around 10 hours after I checked out I received a further message stating " Breakfast Buffet is not available in the chosen set-up "."
"The staff were absolutely amazing and so lovely, we did try the breakfast we only had croissants but they were lush! It’s so so clean and tidy. I’d definitely recommend if you’re staying in Amsterdam! This hotel is definitely in the price range and the price is worth every penny!"
"Overall I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station. The hotel was close to the train station which meant it was easy to get out and about. The room I stayed in was very spacious with ample room to move about. The bathroom was also larger than expected. The only minor dissatisfaction with the room was I could see the Girl with the Pearl Earring painting in the room had what looked like some liquid streak on it which you could see at an angle, as well as some liquid streaks on the door that opened up the area for where the kettle is. One thing of note to anyone looking to stay at this particular hotel. There are major roadworks going on in front of the hotel which means the access to the train station is to go around the roadworks which isn't a lot more walking but still a detour to direct access. Whilst we were there which was over the weekend and a couple of days into the week there wasn't any actual work so there was not any noise disturbance. However, I can imagine that being an issue for hotel guests when work is going on outside the hotel."
