"The Hideaway is located only a 5 minute walk from the village centre and a 20-30 minute walk down to the ferry and all the cafes, pubs and restaurants at Bowness. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed. However, the most memorable feature was the breakfast which was the best we have ever had, the choice was excellent. To top it all there was a choice of home made cake everyday to take with you for your walk. I would definitely stay there again."

"The room was warm, clean and cosy, comfy bed, bath towels a bit small, had a room with mountain view of Dow Crag & Coniston all be it a little restricted, the food was very good in the evening & the breakfast had a great choice and very tasty, staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a very peacful place to stay quiet at night no noise from other rooms will defo stay again it has been one of our better choices"

"The hotel is quirky and is well decorated plus in a great location, however the issue of cleaning standards, no soft closing doors to prevent constant banging and a lack of staff presence after 10pm which resulted in absolutely no sleep due to other guests being antisocial has ruined the stay at this property"

"We loved everything about Oakfold House. The quiet yet close to everything location, the beautiful room and view from our room, delicious breakfast. Easy access to buses to explore the many towns around the lake, as we did not have a car. Chris and Robyn were extremely helpful and lovely to chat to - cannot recommend highly enough."

"Lovely stay at a very friendly hotel. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and the hotel owners Paul and Scarlet could not do enough to help us enjoy our stay. We did not book breakfast but it was there for us each day if we wanted it. Paul recommended other bars for us to attend and helped reassure us about one we weren't sure about. All in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Dragon Fly and will certainly return "

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The hosts were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Very comfy bed and a good shower. It was within walking distance of sea front and the trams which run every 15 minutes going to centre Blackpool, Cleveleys and Fleetwood. Parking easy and we had a lovely plentiful breakfast. "
