"Way out in the countryside but well worth the drive. Welcoming owners. It’s been in their family since 1849! Very clean and updated. Excellent food. Lots of sheep and flowers."

"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. The staff were all amazing and really made us feel at home. A very relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast options. The bar was a great option to wind down at the end of the day with a night cap.

"Clean room and great location.
Food wasn’t the greatest, and the televisions in the room aren’t smart tvs so can’t watch Netflix etc.
Internet isn’t the fastest despite being advertised as such."
"Spa was great hotel was great but unfortunately our upgraded spa bathroom was bad the spa bath stank really bad of rotten eggs when the jets were switched on and the all singing and dancing shower didn't work only the small detachable shower head worked"
"The Langley Castle hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff could not be more accommodating, friendly and helpful. It's been a long time since we experienced such great service and felt so welcomed! We were offered help with our bags, which given the narrow and winding stairs, would be a good option for anyone with a heavy or large suitcase. I believe there were over 20 winding stairs (and not always a hand rail), so if one has any climbing difficulties, be aware of this. Our suite was lovely, as pictured and the A/C was fabulous, especially in a heatwave. The bed was extremely comfortable too. It was nice to have tea, coffee, a carafe of water and some nibbles at the ready. The TV was fiddley and the picture wasn't great, but not that big a deal for us. The breakfast was fine and there was a nice selection of options. However, it was so slow that our coffees went cold waiting - but staff immediately brought fresh when this was noted to them. The bartender was also friendly and helpful. We had a casual meal and that was the only thing I would not have again. My burger whilst hot, was tremendously overcooked, dry and tasteless - almost as if it had been reheated by microwave. I didn't finish it. My partner's fish, although plentiful was greasy. The apple crumble was dry and had the smallest scoop of ice cream I've ever seen in my life. We paid 70 pounds for one of the worst meals we've had. Stay for the experience, but probably eat somewhere else!"
"Lovely hotel in an impressive set of grounds but very close to the centre if you feel the need to go somewhere. The staff on reception were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the rooms well sized and equipped and the whole place was spotlessly clean.
The Spa facilities are quite compact but work well, it was however very odd to have a part of it separated off for Spa only guests...a point we only discovered when we were moved from one hot tub to another despite the fact there was absolutely no signage saying this was the case.
The restaurant served nice food, good choice and priced at a good level"

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at The Parkmore in the Preston Suite for our wedding night. We were really impressed by the size of the room. It was large and luxurious, a real home-from-home. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and the facilities are second to none.
Our room came with plenty of Yorkshire Tea and Nescafe and some packets of biscuits, a hairdryer, a large fan, iron and ironing board. We also had plenty of pillows and soft towels with bottles of toiletries in the bathroom also. The bath was huge and deep and would have fit both of us inside it with ease.
The breakfast was delicious and cooked perfectly to my liking. There was plenty of tea, coffee, grapefruit, orange and apple juice, cereals, yogurt and pastries.
We would definitely recommend a stay here and will be back."
"Really enjoyed our stay. The grounds, room and facilities were lovely. The only slight negative for us was restricted hours for family swimming sessions but otherwise we really enjoyed it and can understand the need to please all users. The staff were superb."
"Although it was just a one night stay for me I received a very warm welcome, shown to my room and all staff; reception, bar and restaurant were first class in their roles.
Room was clean and tidy and bed very comfy.
Good selection of food and cooked breakfast to order."
