"This was a beautiful place to stay in the Old City, perfect for the City Palace and Lake Pichola. The staff were really helpful, the breakfast was good and the accommodation was everything that was promised. Taxis are not allowed into the Old City so there is a short walk once dropped off which I was aware of from other reviews."

"We had changed from the Taj Lake to the Taj Palace because of a rude email, and it would seem the Taj group in general needs basic training in customer relations, as it was no better at this one. This was not a positive experience and as the restaurants are in public space, you get questioned with “what room are you,” when going back into the hotel. Sadly there seems to only be a focus on money but zero on guest experience. Pro- One kind guest relations officer who organized cough medicine for us. Cons- Accessibility prior to check in and post checkout. It got to the unbearable point. I was confused had I not paid to stay at this hotel? Increase rudeness by staff at gates, especially if you pay and go to museum. Had to prove we had been staying at hotel to get access back by one of the rudest people ever. Literally had to find the booking on my phone and show I was a guest of the hotel. This happened another two times. Why does the hotel not give you a day pass if you no longer have, or yet to have a room key. The windows of the room do not open so no fresh air. Left absolutely hating this experience and will never book with the Taj group ever again."

"The Verandah is excellent value in Udaipur. We booked a king size room with a balcony overlooking the lake. The views were wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was good with hot water for the shower. The restaurant was good and the breakfast including the coffee which was excellent. The location is ideal for visiting the city's key sites, many in walking distance or a short auto rickshaw drive away. It is located in an area that cars cannot access so you have to plan to use a rickshaw to reach the property. The staff were the highlight however. Pretty much everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Nimmi at reception was a particular standout. She was cheerful and helpful on every occassion. Overall highly recommend this property!"

"The air conditioning & TV were not working. The cleanings was poor, bed linens stained. Not happy with customer service. Breakfast was fine."

"Hotel was not good at all. There are multiple cons: 1. The rooms are not as shown in the images. 2. The bathrooms have dirty toilets and broken flush. Water spilled over the floor when you use it. Even jet spray makes all your clothes wet. 3. Washroom and bathroom are out of water frequently. 4. They gave me used bedsheet and pillow covers. When I complained to change the pillow covers then their staff told that they don’t have any pillow covers, all of their cover is in laundry. How is it possible that they don’t have a single pillow cover in their whole hotel and all of them are in laundry. Really bad service. 5. They say that they have free wifi. But it doesn’t have internet. They will tell you the password but there is no internet. Even after complaining they don’t take any action. Overall worst hotel I have visited ever. "
