"The hotel was the only one in the downtown area that I found offered a free shuttle service to/from the airport (as well as being able to drop off/pick up at sights in the area). The location is behind a youth center so is quiet and just around the bend from one of the main thoroughfares. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is nice with shower partitioned from the rest of the bathroom. The wifi is very slow and buffers a lot — but when in Brunei, do you really need to be connected all...

"The Brunei is unpretentious. yet provides excellent service not inferior to 5* hotels. Visiting the Sultanate during Ramadan was interesting and challenging and the Brunei managed to accommodate foreign tourists with great service and sensitivity. We are totally satisfied with our stay at The Brunei. "

"Staff friendly and helpful. Even though we had some miscommunications these were rectified fairly. Great location as you can walk to most places although it is hot. Best to hire your own car if you are here or ensure you have the dart app. Lots of places to go and eat in centre which I’d recommend. Pool was closed! "

Loud generator sounds throughout the day/night. Kettle cannot fit under the sink at all to refill water. Lacking “do not disturb” door sign. Loud sounds from water pipes. Cafe inside the hotel doesn’t operate. Cafe outside of the hotel is cash only. Stray dogs wandering around."
