Mount Vernon Place, the district’s elegant central plaza, features a cross-shaped arrangement of elegant gardens. Architectural wonders, such as the Beaux-Arts style Washington Apartment House and Norman-Gothic Mt. Vernon Place United Methodist Church, frame the gardens.
