Athens hotel rooms a the Best Western

"I recommend either paying more to stay on the Acropolis side of the hotel or don’t bother at all. We were on the Zues side, 6th floor and we couldn’t sleep. We stayed there 3 nights and the car/motorcycle traffic was so loud. At one point, I jerked awake believing a car was about to hit me. The breakfast and the servers up there are the highlight. The location is also good. But the hotel must invest in some sound proofing in order to provide guests a chance at rest."

"The room was clean, staff was lovely, breakfast buffet was very good, and I was pleased with the overall up keep of the property. I would definitely stay again. Keep in mind that it is located about 25 mins from the Athens airport, but 45-1hr from Athens city center. "

"I have never paid so much for a hotel that had so little to offer. The room was absolutely lacking in color and detail; everything but the duvet was grey. But what really disturbed me was the fact that the pool was not operating. No reason was provided for this. I was really looking forward to a good swim before a 12-flight. The restaurants were nearly empty and it was easy to understand why; the prices were exorbitant. For $500 US per night, you'd think they could at least include breakfast in the fee. ILike most guests, I simply walked back to the airport and bought food there. Given that the Sofitel is the ONLY airport hotel, they are able to get away with charging so much for so little."

"Very clean and nice view of the water. The restaurant was great and the $10 breakfast buffet was wonderful. We hired a drive to take us to the temple of Poseidon an hour away as we had a day to waste before our flight. There were plenty places to eat. A nice beach with beach chairs and umbrellas and a tiki bar snack place on the beach. There’s not much to do but it was a great place to rest up after our 15 day trip around Greece. "

"The area was slightly questionable but in hindsight it was five. The location was very central with shoppes a short walk away. Tonsssssssssss of places to eat especially late night! The room was exceptionally clean. I had a king bed, tv, microwave, mini fridge. The bathroom was clean. The housekeepers were always willing to tidy up for you and didn’t come banging on your door the day of checkout. Just overall such nice ppl!"
