One of the most beautiful hot spring resorts I have ever visited in the world. I will be back again to soak up the healing water, admire the stunning view of the Pacific and appreciate the hospitality of the wonderful staff.
A good place to stay and relax. Only down side is that there are some communication barriers since I don't speak Japanese and the staff doesn't really speak English, but they did try their best to communicate with you, things like prepared cards and using translation app on their cell phone.
The property has a lovely relaxing resort feel which was welcome after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Kyoto ! The rooms are very spacious .. we upgraded to the ocean view room which was definitely worth it ! The balcony and view was amazing !
The breakfast was a lovely inclusion. , enough Western options . We had dinner there as well and was good .
Tried out the onsen which was very relaxing and did help my sore joints !
The town of Atami is a bit run down , but the temple is nice and pics from the top of the ropeway were okay for a walk around but not much to do/ see .
Large property, with options to dine and shop onsite. Appreciated the additional amenities, including the ability to do laundry. Dining buffet was great, giving everyone an option to choose from many things based on their own preferences.
Would have liked to stay longer - great view! Atami is a beautiful location!
No regret staying at excellency floor although the room rate is on the high side. Excellent view anmd spacious room and it comes with private onsen for 45 minutes! The hotel public onsen is also exceptional.
Just make sure you would spend enough time in the hotel to enjoy all the onsen and spa facilities, otherwise it would be a waste of money.
The food quality is good and the service is good. Just that we don’t speak Japanese and sometimes feel lost in translation and Jane some awkward moment. They do try their best to explain.Overall, it is more like a local luxury wellness retreat than an international hotel. Would be good to have a google translate in hand.
Great property and the employees are very nice and helpful.
Buffet could benefit from a little bit more variety, like changing the menus every other days. Stayed 4 nights but the buffet was proposing the same items every days.
Breakfast was very good.
Overall we really enjoyed the stay. Thank you.
Was a beautiful beach-front property with a wonderful set of onsens.
I do want to make it clear to all people looking to stay here, if you want a ryokan experience there is a totally different room for this. I accidently booked the wrong room area and, whilst it was lovely, I didn't get a private onsen time nor did I get a ryokan experience.
With that said, the buffet breakfast (included) was great! Lots of different options, even for non-Japanese, and such tasty food either way.
The room was clean, lovely view of the ocean, and spacious. Interesting little amenities given to us, and the check-in was smooth despite our mutual linguistic hurdles.
9/10!
We had a great night at Atami Korakuen in November and all 4 of us can't stop thinking about the excellent experience! From the shuttle service from the driver to the staff at the reception, gift shop, cleaning staff and servers, everyone was amazing. The two rooms were amazing, dinner was very memorable and the view was top class! I will go back but will stay at least 2 nights next time!
Arigatou gozaimasu!!!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
The English standard of staff is a bit poor but helpful. Still managed to communicate with google translate.
Their chck out time is 10am. I asked for one hour extension, they want to charge extra. Only one bottle of water a day. And the hotel is old. The room is not spacious, and the view is bad.
I do not expect a resort hotel like this. Perhaps it is just too old.
