"Great Breakfast Buffet. The hotel is in the entrance of Antigua, so it´s about 4,000 steps from the Cathedral and the park (where restaurants and coffe shops are). Nice rooms (clean, TV, bathtub, etc). The Hotel has abot 3 museums inside. This hotel was build on a ancient catholic convent where monks and priests lived their religious life. There are catacombs with the remains of the people that lived there. Trully, the only real 5 star hotel in Central America."
"Beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms. About 4 blocks from the main square in Antigua. On site restaurant was excellent with very attentive service."
"The property looks exactly like the pictures - so no scam here. Very cute hotel, far enough from the central area to be quiet, and close enough that everywhere is easily reachable within a few minutes. The staff were helpful and friendly overall. The only reason I deducted one star is that the AC would not go below 18°C, so if you’re a cold sleeper, this might be tough."
"Room was okay, the place is beautiful; Antigua is magical and the hotel is nice and beautiful everywhere you go.
The issue is service needs work. I was asked to leave my ID for a lent umbrella, leaving me with no ID in case police stops me, I’m paying well over two hundred per night and they don’t trust me with my umbrella? Could ask me to leave my room key so I don’t forget the umbrella or even make me sign a “loose it and pay for it ticket” ; but requiring me leave my ID was a discomfort.
I think the staff is polite, but need some service training, I asked for tips on restaurants, favorite ruins within the city to visit, areas to walk to; all with multiple staff members and answers were always lukewarm “it’s all good” “anywhere is fine. "
