Appreciate the staff, always friendly & helpful. Pet friendly, offer a limited breakfast. I/we stay here 2 to 4 times a year.

The room and all areas of the hotel were IMMACULATE and had the usual amenities. The staff here is beyond compare! They all go above and beyond to be helpful and kind. Always greeted me warmly when I returned to the facility. Always checked to see if I needed anything. They are friendly and genuinely seemed to want my stay to be a good one. I have stayed at this location a few times in the past and always return because I know I will be very comfortable and there won't be any problems. I like staying here better than staying with family!!

I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Microtel in Ames. It was much cleaner, nicer, and quieter than any of the similarly priced hotels where I've stayed in the area. I was especially pleased with the service I received when I checked in. The heating system in my room was not functioning, which I understand can happen. After making a quick check to see if he could fix it, the desk clerk immediately and happily assigned me another, nearby room. He brought me a new key card, waited while I unloaded my bags from the bell cart, and took the cart back to the lobby for me. Kudos!

The room we reserved was spacious and had a quiet heating/cooling system. The desk was large. Enjoyed the window seat. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again. The complimentary breakfast was adequate, but only hot item was a waffle. The bathroom needed updated tub/shower and toilet. But still adequate.

Great for fair price

Room was clean and quiet. The air conditioning worked well and everything was as expected. The breakfast appeared adequate but not fancy. It’s a block from a really nice breakfast restaurant that was amazing so we didn’t actually eat there. I would stay there again.

The staff was very nice. Only had a cold beverage with waffles. No hot food. Beds were comfortable. Room was not very clean. There were stains on the sheets and also on the duvet. The walls and ceiling had dirty spots. Needs an upgrade
