"Excellent value for money stay just on the outskirts of Bath directly in the river. Very well appointed single room and a very nice continental breakfast. Very friendly staff. Parking is chargeable which I'd missed but still good value. I would return"

"Checked in on Friday, and told that there was a half marathon on Sunday which meant we could not use the road from 7.30. That meant for us, really no point staying as would need to leave before that. So we checked out on Saturday - reception seemed to agree this was sensible and no other option. Then they would not agree refund - seems unreasonable to me."

"The hotel is very nice and the grounds are beautiful, staff are very good, helpful and friendly, However the spa and pool are in need of a refurbishment/clean, some of the furniture in are room needed replacement, more like 4*, however still very nice place to stay,"

"Room was ok car park was a bit sketchy a lot of broken glass from previous cars who had their windows smashed - staff just joked about the car park and how it was park at your own risk anyway. Breakfast was good I liked the omelette station but coffee was dire! WiFi was really poor and gave up with it in the end. "

"The Good: Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great, plenty of options for places to eat. Plenty of activities available and easy to book. The Bad: No complimentary parking. Some of the lifts were broken and had been for several days before we arrived. There seemed to be no interest in getting them fixed. Quite disappointed overall, not sure I would ever come back. Would have been better booking a holiday abroad."

"Hotel is in an excellent location.It is surrounded by restaurants and cafes and it is within an easy 5 min walk of the hippodrome theatre. A decent size secure carpark is across a small, quiet road from the hotel. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was good- plenty of choice and easy to find a table. Staff were pleasant and helpful. It is a large hotel but only has 2 lifts which state they hold 8 but were full with 5 in. It was a very busy weekend as the Bristol half marathon was on the Sunday but only one of the lifts were working so there were always long waits for the lift. We were on the 3rd floor and due to the hotel’s location could hear music and people until after midnight. The noise wasn’t particularly loud but I could see some guests having an issue with it. "
