"Enjoyed 1 night at The Bear Hotel and found it to be extremely welcoming and comfortable. Greeted with a warm smile and a friendly face. Happy to change our room without any fuss or incovenience. Had a good quality meal in the restaurant. Food was tasty and the staff here also happy and efficient. We loved the location and would definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you."

"The room was clean, the bed was comfy and it was reasonably quiet, and very conveniently sited, which was all we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. If you're after something more fancy this will not be for you, but if you just want a solid place to sleep then it's a good choice."

"Useful stay for us on our way to Cornwall to break the journey up but we could wait to leave, mould in the bathroom, a strange welcome, and the carpet felt like it had never been vacuumed. The bed was semi comfortable but not enough pillows. "

The food was outstanding, delicious and clearly made with care. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. "Parking outside the pub was full but there is a small village car park on the opposite side of the road to use. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the room well presented woth a great choice of teas, coffees and biscuits available in the room. There are a few walks that can be done straight from the pub. I was doubtful about staying at a pub but this place was excellent."
