Quiet, clean, safe. Arrived no staff member to meet us, apartment was set up for 5 people not 6 as paid for, taxi recommended by reception we realised near the end of our holiday was much more expensive than one we found ourselves.

Small safe site complex great for families. Great pool area. Close to amenities & beach. Helpful pleasant staff. Basic apartment but adequate. Only down side the bed was terribly uncomfortable!

Modern Condo - unexpected extra charge

The property is a fairly new contemporary condo with pool, restaurant and some other facilities. It is located away from the town center and not within walking distance to the beach. There is a nice, but crowded pool and a fitness center that is not used (locked). We were required to pay an unexpected extra charge at check in. We had reservations for 3 adults and 1 child and were told that we needed to pay an additional 20 Euros per night for the third adult. We were told that it was for an additional bed that we did not need, did not want and did not use. Not a good start. I do not recommend this property due to this surprise charge. Additionally, the "Family Friendly Facilities" listed "Laundry Facilities". The staff said that there are no laundry facilities on the property but we could drive somewhere to find a laundry. The room runs out of hot water fairly quickly.

Behalve de bedden is het perfect en aanbevolen

Het verblijf was heel schoon en netjes onderhouden. De bedden waren heel hard. Het gevoel of je op een houten plank lag te slapen. De service was prima. elke dag schone handdoeken en het appartement werd opgeruimd en schoongemaakt. Behalve de bedden kan is dit resort een aanrader.

hôtel accueillant

résidence sympathique avec piscine .les appartements sont spacieux avec le confort nécessaire pour passer une bonne semaine.nous y sommes allés en octobre donc pas trop de monde et c'était génial.dommage que la piscine ne soit pas chauffée....il faut demander à être de l autre coté de la route car très bruyante et passante . la réception ne parle pas français ,difficile en anglais mais on arrive à se faire comprendre et ils répondent à nos demandes rapidement .un nettoyage irréprochable ....les matelas des chambres sont très bien par contre si on doit dormir dans le clic clac insupportable une feuille de papier cigarette .il manque un étendoir pour faire sécher les serviettes et l insonorisation est fine donc on entend les voisins.nécessité d'une voiture pour accéder à la plage ,aux magasins . je recommande cette résidence pour un voyage hors saison ++++nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances

Relaxing and quiet environment, great hotel

We had a whole villa to ourselves (2 people), 5 nights. 1-bedroom (the staff locked the 2nd bedroom - we didn't need it, plus it would be more money), very spacious dining area and living room, again spacious bathroom with bathtub and bidet, plus equipped kitchen, nice little patio outside of sliding door. Absolutely no complaints - maybe just wifi that was very weak in our place, had to go to the hotel's lobby for good signal. Beach "Gale" is 10 mins walking, supermarket Apolonia is on the way. We had a car and made trips to Benagil Beach and the famous cave, Marinha Beach, St. Rafael and Arrifes Beach (all gorgeous beaches). Weather in mid-September was great - sunny every day, about 27C, low humidity ....so fresh breeze - although the temp of the sea was a cold 22.5C. Id' still spend a good 1/2 hour swimming daily. For nightlife, restaurants you have to go the centre of Albufeira, which is about 10-15 mins drive). We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant once - nicely presented, smaller portions for about 7-10 euros of seared tuna and tempura shrimp with chips, but it was enough for us as dinner. I do recommend this hotel.

Well equipped rooms, very clean, spacious. Location not great, a 15 minute walk to supermarket for basics like water. No daytime snack bar, not set up for family days around the pool which was a huge shame for us. A car is advisable, we missed out on alot because of the distance. Cannot fault the rooms though.

Very nice apartment chilled out place it has resturants and pubs within easy walking distance rooms are standard but vomgy enough to enjoy the stay, the staff are friendly polite and very helpful, i eould revoment a car hire which some are very cheap if you want to go further than gale or some of the surrounding area, would go stay there again

O local é muito agradável e confortavel, os únicos pontos desfavoráveis foram a Wi-Fi com sinal instável, o sofá cama da sala não consegui abrir e tive que colocar o colchão no chão! A recepção fecha as 18 e só abre as 9 o que dificulta a resolução dos problemas. Indico o hotel e dou a dica de ir ao Restaurante Almeida que fica na mesma rua. Local agradável, com um atendimento de primeira.

Lovely, quiet resort.

We went on a week beach break with my Mum and 1 year old daughter. The resort suited us for what we needed. It's very quiet. There is a lovely big supermarket a 10-15min walk away. Restaurants all within walking distance. Gale Beach 15-20mins walk away. You could do it without a car but we were pleased to have the car for day trips. The apartment was kitted very basically but adequate. There were no beach towels. Staff very helpful and accommodating.

Glenridge resort close to restaurants and beach

Great resort, perfect for self catering, however, there are good restaurants within walking distance. We had a two bedroom apartment which was large enough for the four of us (2 adults, 2 children), one bathroom & an ensuite shower room. Only negative was there was only one toilet, but a minor gripe!!

Restful and Relaxing

Just back from a great week at the Glenridge - the apartments are very well equipped, exceptionally clean and quite spacious. Staff are attentive and nothing is a bother for them - any requests are actioned within minutes. It's a small complex so was lovely and quiet which is what we were looking for. There is not much to do in the area so if you are after a lot of buzz then this is not the place for you, but if you want a holiday that is restful and relaxing then it's perfect. A 10 minute walk from the beach which is beautiful (there are also lots of little coves along the beach that are nice and private, also waterspouts available at the beach). Supermarkets are 5 mins walk one way or 10 mins walk to a larger one, both are well equipped with all you would need and the quality is very good. A few shops are dotted here and there but it's just the usual touristy stuff in them. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance, all that we tried were fab, we've been to Portugal a few times and we've always found the food and service in restaurants to be of a high quality and very reasonable. The only negative I spotted was that there weren't that many sunbeds available - if all the apartments were occupied it may be hard to get a bed but then the beach had loads so it may not be a major issue! All in all a little hidden treasure of accommodation if you are after peace and quiet to chill.

Lovely apartments/resort for quiet family holiday

Clean, quiet resort with maybe 20 apartments, some privately owned. Had two bedroom, spacious apartment close to the pool and swings, ideal for kids (8 and 12 yrs). All rooms had electric shutters on windows. Cleaned every day (except Sunday) with fresh towels. Pillows a bit small and flat and beds not the most comfortable but ok. Kitchen had big fridge, dish washer and microwave. Pool always clean and not busy at all considering peak time (1st two weeks of August). Snacks and drinks available anytime (Pigtail chips a must!). Had meal in restaurant first night - lovely food, also for kids. Ideal location if you want a quiet family holiday but don't expect any entertainment (only karaoke night Thurs 'til 11pm). This suited us but may be too quiet for some. Small supermarket 10 min walk and larger one ~20 mins towards Gale. Nice restaurants close by - Sao Domingos good kids menu and fab desserts! Go to Praia Da Gale at Gale beach for wonderful sunset and great traditional Portugese food. Gale beach busy but definitely worth visiting. We hired a car for a few days and went to Aquashow water park which was great for the kids. Also went to Albufeira a couple of times (once by taxi) but getting a taxi back to resort at 2pm in the afternoon was a nightmare as you can't flag them down. All in all, a great place to stay for a relaxing holiday but with plenty of things to do nearby if you want a change of scene. Note - there is no golf on the resort! Go to Salgados (5 min drive away).
