"Mediocre at best. It's a place to lay your head. Airport is still 500 metre walk. Very understaffed. Same staff check you in, pour beer, take food orders and answer questions. No one answers when you call the front desk. Room was basic and clean. However, can't control A/C or heat from inside room and can't open the window so it was stuffy.. Will stay in town next time and catch the tram out"

"Overall, I had an awesome experience at this hotel. The room was clean, in decent condition, and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The restaurant downstairs was decent. We had a server who was awesome but I never got his name. The hotel is near a university and there are plenty of walking paths to enjoy if you like to get out and about. Also, it's very close to a bus stop. Just know, if you stay at this property, the bus ride into Edinburgh is 45-50 minutes. My only major issue of contention is Marriott's 'free drink in lieu of your room being cleaned'. Apparently both the first and last night don't count... so if you forego room cleaning after your first night the whole next day, that doesn't count. We were told "It's in the small print". Marriott should be ashamed. Their cost for one beverage is far less than the cost of paying someone to clean a room, yet they mislead the customers... VERY DISAPPOINTED in this part."

"Rooms weren’t cleaned properly, floor was full of crumbs, all our furniture in the room was dirty and scribbled with a permanent marker. Room was super noisy and we kept hearing doors banging overnight, hallway carpets and other room doors were poorly maintained, Definitely not worth the money. Can’t say much about amenities since we didn’t used any. Staff was friendly and attentive."

"The stay at Dalmahoy was brilliant. I upgrade my room to the period double in the house and wasn't disappointed. The staff were friendly and super helpful. I enquired about the cinema room use for showing the eurovision, and guest relations were happy to put it on for us. More to see in Edinburgh, so will be hopefully going back at some point to finish off, and to use the leisure facilities as we didn't use them."

"Just stayed at the hotel, arrived at 6 to check in, went to room, not cleaned, bedding/towels and bins all there from last people who stayed there, went back to report issue, young lad didn’t even apologies, felt like I inconvenience him with issue, never complain but had to speak to duty manager, she was apologetic, found another room, was basic than one I paid for, gave free drink and breakfast as apology."
