"It started out as a disaster. The room had no Wi-Fi and a shower that did not work. The next room had a TV that did not work. Finally, the 3rd attempt proved successful. Everything worked properly and it was a very enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, there is a lot that needs to be repaired or upgraded for this to be a great hotel again. "I booked 2 VIP room . Neither of those were good. One room (201)had the bathroom door that was not to open. Need someone outside helps to get it open. Hot water was not working. Another room(202) had the water leaking from AC. The staff at front desk-the young guy- tried to solve the problems. Unfortunately, it did not fix that good. Not recommend this hotel to stay."

Had to crawl onto bed because it was enclosed on 3 sides by alcove and hurt my knee. safe instructions and jeypad upside down. No TV signal to English channels. I had electric jettle and tea but no cup; when asked for one, guy said no! Had to go buy one. No place in room to sit and drink the tea, no place for luggage -had to leave on...

"We have mixed feelings about our stay at the Mekong Lodge. The hotel and grounds are quaint, and we got to extensively relax at the bar and by the pool, which was nice after being in loud and busy HCMC. "We stayed for three nights and could not have been happier. The room was spacious, clean and really comfortable. It was well equipped and had a lovely bathroom. The staff - who spoke very good English - were very attentive and kept in touch through WhatsApp and arranged numerous trips (including rescuing us when we had a flat bicycle tyre). It's a bit out of town but all the better for it. Breakfast also worthy of mention, freshly made and delicious with lots of fresh fruit mixing western and Vietnamese foods. I hesitate to recommend it because it is a hidden gem and probably won't stay hidden for much longer!"
