"Oberstdorf is a beautiful hiking paradise with plenty of Hotels. Hence there is no need to stay in the sub-par Fuggerhof where you are put into a basement room while the unfriendly front desk staff tries to up-sell you into an above ground room - as if that were a special feature. Just to be clear - there was no mention of below ground rooms during booking and the basement room wasn't a walkout basement but did have a small window at the top of the wall, eye-level with the grass roots of the ill...

"It is a really good hotel for people wanting to go skiing. Very good location, close to rental houses and just a around 5 minutes away walking from the main street.
