"Good experience to stay in traditional Japanese house.clean and kitchen well equipped. Washing machine was convenient. Due to it being an older building, insulation isn’t very good and gets very cold in the winter and need heaters in all rooms. Location is not great as it is walking distance to most places. Bus stop 7 minute walk. Could have provided more furniture such as chairs. Overall nice experience besides being on the cold side."

My only complaint or warning to other travelers is that the steps to the bedroom are very steep. An elderly or very young traveler might have some difficulty maneuvering"

"We wanted to stay in a traditional house that could sleep two couples and this was a great experience. I think if you had little familiarity with Japan and/or Kyoto, it would be a bit hard to find. The neighborhood was not hard to navigate, but it was a good ten minute walk to the busy part of shijo-dori. We arrived very late in the evening but had no trouble.
