"A lovely old building. We had the spa bath room. Next time I’ll ditch the bath and ask for a room with a view. Check in person was lovely and competent. Room was clean and nice, not modern but that’s ok we knew that when booking. I would say to anyone who has mobility issues to be aware it is positioned at the top of a steep hill… so if you’re planning to walk to shops etc you will need to have reasonable fitness to get up and down the stairs or pathways. "

"Perfect choice for an active and enquiring grand child. The hosts involved the children in the morning feeding schedule with the donkeys, alpacas, the goat Princess Mary and the long horn Highland cattle along with explaining interesting characteristics. A stroll with the dogs around the property on a crisp morning and visit the horses. There was plenty of space to run, specially made climbing equipment and inside activities at the barbecue hut. Temperatures reached -4 but heating in chalet...

This is not a 5 star hotel with room service and in-house movies, this is a place to reconnect with your loved ones and the environment. No TV makes you talk to each other without any distractions. "Lovely cosy room was all we needed. Great to stay in an old ex convict place. Check in was via a code to my phone text which worked fine. Had a good look around Oatlands, enjoying all the history of the place. "

"I loved the history of the lodge and how charming the property and the grounds are! I loved how the property has been taken care of with so much love and passed down from generations in a family. Desma and John made the place feel homey and was able to keep it's historical elements to it while adding some modern touches to make it more comfortable for the guest.
