"Big Horse Inn is a hidden gem in this part of Illinois. It is perfectly located, close to Dickson Mounds (great hiking trails), Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge, and the Illinois/Spoon River area. "This is a beautiful property - it is unique in the sense that the property is composed of only 7 rooms in total. But this uniqueness makes it very special. The owner/manager is accomodating and has an open, beautiful personality. The rooms are beautiful and super clean. I have never stayed in a hotel like this and was quite leary when I pulled up to the door, but I found the property to be exactly what I like.
