I discovered Huesca by accident a few years ago while exploring the region of Aragón in Spain. Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Huesca is a charming small town overlooked by just about everyone. It is a great day trip from Zaragoza, and one of my favorite small towns in Spain.

You also can’t miss the Cloisters of San Pedro el Viejo, which date back to the 12th century and are an important example of Romanesque architecture. While on your stroll, visit the former palace of the kings of Aragon, which is now home to the Provincial Museum, and the City Hall, a good example of Aragon’s Renaissance style.
