Table View is a suburban neighborhood named for its spectacular views of Table Mountain in Cape Town. The picturesque and serene area has pristine beaches and many modern malls to suit all your needs.

Have fun in the sun at Table View Beach beside the main coastal promenade. Go jogging with the locals along this long stretch of sand. Make use of the strong winds by flying a kite in this scenic region. The main attraction is the wonderful view of Table Mountain that dominates the horizon to the southwest. Snap photos of the remarkable rock, with its flat summit and the skyline of Cape Town at its foot.

A little to the north is Bloubergstrand Beach, with white sand and excellent views of Robben Island and Table Mountain. Play in rock pools and try kite surfing on the Atlantic Ocean. Dine at one of the many restaurants and bars surrounding Dolphin Beach to the south.

Take advantage of the varied shopping opportunities and make a trip to the stunning Canal Walk Shopping Centre, with 400 stores and first-rate services. Browse the stores of the Paddocks Shopping Centre. Bring the kids to the Milnerton Waterpark for its many slides, pools and playground areas.

At the southern end of the neighborhood stands the Rietvlei Wetland Reserve, where you will find pelicans and flamingos. Take binoculars to see a range of exotic birds and wildlife that inhabit these marshes. Go canoeing or waterskiing in the lagoon for a thrilling time.

Learn the history of the area, which expanded rapidly from the 1970s as people moved out from the central parts of Cape Town.

On South Africa’s western coast, Table View is about 9 miles (15 kilometers) northeast of central Cape Town. Take a taxi or rent a car for the 25-minute scenic journey that incorporates views of the ocean and the Diep River. Leave the car at one of the many parking spots beside the beach.
