"Friendly staff at front desk, but could use more smile and friendly manner at restaurant as well ^&^ When I asked for water, the server told me to get it myself without a smile. A friendly lady manager heard it and brought it for me..^&^ And, clean white beach photos fooled me thinking good to jump.. it wasn't at all cleaned up mixed seaweeds with trash, had to boat out away from beach to snorkel or swim, away from sea urchins and seaweeds..^&^ "

"I stayed 9 nights (Feb 24) in Residence Zanzibar together with my 3 daughters (13, 17, 20y.) to have "onetime" holiday that included also safari in Tanzania. Hotel is situated approx. 90min far from an airport, surrounded by a tropical garden. Hotel offers only villas with private pools. We stayed at Frangipani villa, which easily accomodates 4 almost adult persons. Villa is very large (3 rooms, 2 bathrooms) pleasant, private pool very spacious. "Flame Tree Cottages were an amazing find! We stayed here for 3 weeks, and every day was perfect! The staff are a complete credit to the hotel. They are super helpful, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The cottages are super cute, and positioned as such you don’t have neighbours, just your own beautiful gardens to look over. The food is amazing (especially the jumbo prawns, chapatis, and coconut pumpkin curry) and the restaurant is a front row seat for the wonderful sunset. There...
