Pia & Hashim are great hosts who let you feel like home, always friendly and willing to help you with everything. Their cute dog Leo & their cat complete the family. "Because we were only stopping for 2 nights we weren't too particular as to the room so chose the cheapest option but in retrospect we should have picked one next to the pool. We were in an annexe a 20meters away and it was a small room, though it did provide an effective ac unit, tea and coffee facilities, hit shower, clean towels both days, mosquito net, and it was clean and well presented. The main rooms surround the pool and are better proportioned. The owner and the staff are very pleasant...

"Safari House had plenty of space for our family of five. While not in the heart of Stone Town, it wasn't a far walk (10 min) to get there. Romaine, our host, was quite accommodating. The power and water shut off in the morning and he was over immediately to fix it (we didn't realize it was on a timer and was an easy fix). He also allowed us to store our luggage there after checkout time while we went out for a bit before our flight home. "

The room had no air conditioning and the power went off for about 4 hours in the middle of the night. It was very hot and difficult to sleep. Also the water pressure was barely a trickle making showering almost impossible. "
