"Regular visitor to The Clayton Leeds don't know this time around the area felt strange, on arrival the metal barriers to the car park was down and no explanation note on them to say what to do. Car park when entering very few cars which was good as plenty of space to park, unusual for this hitel as it does get very busy. Had to go to reception as no way to contact to be told we will open them and let you in.
Room was clean, bathroom had a refurb which was nice to see as had become dated. The safe did not work in the room, but saying that over heard telephone call to reception that another guest could have used the back office one behind reception. As only one night did not bother. Breakfast was plentyful which we enjoyed the choice hot or cold options. The front off the hotel was taped off which made us wonder on arrival in something was going on and that's why car park was closed.
Realised next morning it was because the canopy had smashed above. So stopping guest walking on right side incase it broke. Having said that from height it would go all over anyway. A polite notice would have been less concerning.
This did not stop us having a good stay, reception staff as always very helpful and courteous yo their guest. Cleanliness very good, reception very clean. Would any of the above stop me going again no minor hiccups for a busy hotel"
"The hotel is clean and the staff so attentive however a little disappointed on arrival we couldn’t make use of the roof top bar due to a private function which would have been useful to learn prior. The hotel is superb and in a unique position for the centre albeit breakfast was a little chaotic"
"Was a wonderful stay during our British vacation. Room upgrade was outstanding and the staff was excellent. Room was trendy and clean. Accessible toilets were on a half-floor above the lobby, requiring a chair elevator to be deployed each tme by staff, which was inconvenient but their novel solution was to be commended (The staircase literally becomes a lift)"
"The staff were excellent and should be commended.
The room was very good but not too keen in waiting for 3 days to have the room cleaned considering the amount we were charged for the room. Not really what is expected when the economy hotels do this everyday unless asked otherwise.
The gym and pool was adequate for the size but gwt in there early especially the pool as it can get quite busy.
The bar was well priced and not overly priced either.
The food..well breakfast was excellent and very well laid out although they are not always upto speed with replenishing food which are in high demand.
The restaurant...I have to say is well over priced. On the first night we used the restaurant as it was the easier option. I had the brisket mac and cheese...well there was more beef in a beef sandwich from a corner shop. Extremely disappointed especially when it looked like it had just come out of the Microwave. My partner has the prawn risotto....a plate of mushy rice with 5 prawns on the top. Least to say we never ate there for our evening meals again.
Other than that we enjoyed our stay."
"Our room was very clean. The staff during the day were extremely helpful, alas, not so much when we had a problem during the night. The hotel gave us a credit for this.
The breakfast was fine, although, as expected on a bank holiday, super busy.
We did not appreciate the proximity of the hotel to the conference centre. Therefore, maybe an idea to check if there is a conference on when you visit and what time it finishes in the evening."
"Perfect place to stay if you want to be walking distance of main tourist must visit places. The included breakfast is excellent. I will stay there again if I come back, which I probably do."
"Very disturbed sleep as walls are thin and can hear TVs and people snoring from other rooms. Floors creak and doors are banging repeatedly when trying to sleep. But outdoor space and staff are great as well as the breakfast too."
