"The staff was very polite. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I recommend the Barrington and I would stay there again. I was a solo traveler visiting Halifax for the first time and I had a wonderful time. There was an issue with the television. After the first day, some channels no longer worked. This would not have been an issue except that during my down time I wanted to watch the World Cup. Two different employees come to the room to look at the television. Apparently it turned out to be an external problem that was not rectified during my stay."

"The staff were really welcoming and efficient. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. The hotel was conveniently located for the Citadel and harbour area. However, we could not sleep because of the noise from a nearby night club. The music did not stop until 3.30am! We were only booked in for one night but would otherwise have requested a change of room as the rooms on the Citadel side might be quieter. A shame as everything else was really nice."

"This was our 4th stay at the Hollis I believe. We visit family in Halifax yearly and have found the Hollis our best option in the downtown area. The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are well kept and beds are very comfortable. We would be very hard pressed to stay anywhere else. Love the Hollis!"

"The property is nice and the staff extremely attentive. The bed was ok, but the mattress needs rotation because there was clear a side that had a depression. The walls are pretty thin, so a light sleeper like me would need to be prepared. Perhaps asking for a room at the end of the hall would have been the thing to do. Overall it was a good but not exceptional experience."
