"We stayed overnight and left mat 4:30 am"

"Will not stay there again. The carpets in the hallway to the rooms smelled. They sprayed this strong scent all over the hotel so they can cover up for the carpet smell I guess. We were told we had to pay 5 pounds/person for the pool which is ridiculous because it should be included and the changing rooms were so dirty with towels all over the floor and were slippery floors. The staff at the pool was also not nice and attempted to open the door to the changing room while my daughter was changing even though I told him we were in there after he knocked. The pool itself was so hot (like a hot tub) and there was no airconditioning in the area. My kids swam for 5 min and left. I couldn't wait to get out of that hotel!"

The service and attention he provided were very exceptional, along with short, but pleasant conversations which made the human experience of our travels that much more memorable. "I booked a room for myself, husband and 17 yo daughter. The website would not allow me to include my daughter in the reservation, no matter what age. I tried imputing every age, even a toddler, just to see if it was a glitch but it wouldn’t accept any child. I had stayed there before and talked with a couple that were traveling with their kids and knew they had rooms with 4 beds. So, I did the reasonable thing-I called and was told that it was fine to have our daughter with us. Imagine my surprise when I showed up to the hotel and was told that we needed to get another room. We were told that because our daughter was over 16, she was an adult and needed her own room. Because the room was already paid for, my daughter and I went to the room while my husband went to talk to Holiday Inn Express. He had points that he could use there and wanted to see what their price was. After my daughter and I got to our room, I went after him and told him to just go to our room and we could figure out what to do next. No sooner had he entered our room, the hotel staff called and threatened to have us evicted because we had him in our room. We went down to talked to the manager and was told that our daughter needed to be 15 to stay in our room (down from 17yo when I booked the room and 16yo at check in. I think that they just keep adjusting the age depending on who you talk to). Ended up just getting another room. Never will stay there again."

"We stayed at this "luxury" hotel because it was the only one at terminal 5. While the hotel looked luxurious, the A/C in the room was terrible. It was set at 19C but it was not cool. The shower door opened out and you couldn't put the shower mat on the floor outside the shower door because the door wouldn't allow it when opening. The floor was very slippery when wet. The international restaurant food was fine but the service was terrible. Our waiter was very rude."

"I specifically booked this hotel because of the Pod to Heathrow. Nowhere on the site do they let you know it’s out of action and nor did the staff tell me that was the case at check-in. In fact she led me to believe it was working when she told me how to use it, gave me a printout of how to work it and then charged me £8.50 to use it. Instead one is paying £8.50 to use a replacement bus service. Very disappointed that I was misled and will not stay at Thistle again."
