"I highly recommend this ryokan if you are visiting Mt Aso. We stayed at the two storied migi room with a private outdoor tub and an indoor jacuzzi. The space was immaculate and spacious. You must book the half board rate that includes the most sumptuous breakfast and dinner you will find anywhere. You will need to take a bus/train to reach the main Aso area but that we no issue for us. Every staff we met extended the highest hospitality we ever experienced. "

If you drive there, do not arrive before sunset or it's totally dark during the lane. "Very clean and very comfortable. They are very vague about you putting everything back. Does it mean you have to wash all of your dishes and put them back exactly? Communication was lacking. Of the two emails I sent, I never got a response. I left some stuff there and asked if it was found and they decided not to answer me. I ended up leaving it there so I suppose someone else is not enjoying it."

"We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. We were left in the typhoon with nowhere to go and struggled to find anything for hours during when the weather got really bad.
