"The room was as basic but clean and felt safe. It was expected. Bedding and towels were provided but I was surprised to find a wash cloth was not. I like to cleanse my face in the evening. I also accidently locked my self out of my room the evening prior to my departure and was surprised to find they had no spare key. The staff did gain entry but had to move me to another room for my last night. In that room the sink leaked from underneath and there were visible cobwebs. I do not think they planned to have someone in the room but it was not ready for occupancy. "
"Great location. Tina was super helpful. The fourth floor views were great and we enjoyed the sun bathing pool (and its doves). Great to have a safe and daily maid service. If you’re diving with Dr Dive or Tres Amigos this is a great location. "
"From the moment we arrived at Playa Sonrisa, we knew it was going to be special — but it exceeded all our expectations. The place is absolutely breathtaking: peaceful, beautiful, perfectly maintained, and filled with an atmosphere that truly helps you disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature.
The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. They are always attentive, smiling, and genuinely happy to help with anything you need. They make you feel at home from the very first moment — and that makes all the difference.
And the food… simply delicious! Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with care and love.
If you’re looking for a place to relax, enjoy amazing food, and experience outstanding service, Playa Sonrisa is the perfect destination. I would come back again and again without hesitation.
Thanks Blaney and Steve to make our staying so spectacular."
"The view was nice. The room clean. The bathroom was not the best. Limited hot water and odd setup. The toilet getst wet every time you shower because it’s just open. Also it says there are laundry facilities but there are none. You have to walk a few blocks to a service that will wash for you and give it back to you in the afternoon. Staff was nice. "
