Lovely hotel in Wurzburg

We had a lovely stay in the Hotel Melchior Park, Würzburg. It’s a little way out of the historic centre but right on a good bus route (very cheap and direct service to the centre). Hotel was immaculately clean, very quiet and all the staff we met were very friendly and efficient. Our room had a full balcony and overlooked the ‘natural’ outdoor pool. We’d definitely stay here again if we went back to Wurzburg.

The hotel is really nice with underground and off street parking options for extra fee. The junior suite is excellent and we enjoyed the gym and wellness facilities. The dinner in the hotel’s restaurant was amazing. Highly recommended. On check-out we noticed that we had been charged with breakfast we did not asked for and we had been also charged for decoration in the room we did not know about. These extra charges were refunded upon mentioning them.

It was a very impersonal hotel. At the check in the lady wasn't very friendly. We felt judged and not worthy of a smile. The room was clean. Bathroom was great. But no coffee or tea facilities, no smart tv, no minibar. Big refrigerator but only one bottle of water in it( this was complimentary). Room had an airco but it didn't cool the room at all. Just pumped around some air. The douvet's were synthetic so that made everything even warmer. To pay €14 for parking as a guest is really not done. Breakfast for €24 per person is also very expensive. It was a good breakfast but I have eaten in many hotels over the world but never payed this much. We will not come again.
