"The air conditioner for the whole building was broken, and with the heat it was almost impossible to sleep. The staff tried their best to help in anyway possible, but it was horrible."
"The hotel is excellent other than the restaurant. We stay here regularly on the way to Devon. We tried the restaurant on the way and it wasn't good. Tried again on the way back with 10%discount and had to send the meal back. Next time we stay in July we will dine at the premier inn/beafeater 10mins away
Otherwise all was good"
"A very good experience which started with check in conducted by Mina - a very welcoming approach and the pleasant surprise of an upgraded room via the VIP status. I arrived late due to train delays and asked what time the bar was open until - was told midnight, so went to my room to unpack etc. Received a courtesy call in my room to invite me down to the bar as a decision was made to close it at 11.00 pm as it was empty. The drink was afforded on the house - a nice, unexpected touch on their part. Room was well appointed and bedding was very comfortable. I have since booked the same hotel for my business trips to Birmingham."
"Reception staff very friendly and attentive. Restaurant staff were aware of my food allergies and everything was clearly labelled. Room was clean. Close to train station/bull ring and the arena."
Holiday Inn Express Birmingham - City Centre by IHG
8/10 Good
"Lovely check in and room/ facilities very good. 10 mins’ walk to/from New St station. Breakfast good choices/ options. Not much atmosphere for evening drink but minor matter as on the whole you will be out enjoying the city itself."
