"This was the most amazing property and hosts we came across during our travels in Germany and France. There were not too many pictures of the apartment on Expedia when I booked, but the apartment surpassed all of our expectations. The apartment was very big, all rooms were very big. The hosts were simply amazing. It took a little while before I got a reply when I first messaged them on Expedia but once we were at the apartment they were quick to help and so welcoming. "We stayed at Hotel Deutsches Haus for 2 nights and loved every minute. Our room was in the old building, which had so much character and history. You could tell the building was very old, yet our room had many modern touches. The breakfast served each morning in the other building was fantastic, with so many options. The location was perfect and even though we explored the whole town, we were never far from our room if we wanted to come back for a rest. "

"Amazing, atmospheric place. Beautifully laid out to keep the feel of a fortified manor. My only disappointment was the bed. My room had two singles pushed together, which is fairly normal in Germany. However these were two narrow wooden beds, with the frames higher than the mattress. Whilst the style was in keeping with the room, the actual sleeping space was limited, and I kept kicking the frame during the night. Mattress was comfortable though."

"Didn’t like the check-in process with no staff and available and having to use WhatsApp to communicate. Upon check-in our air conditioning unit was not working during a heat wave. We were told to wait it out. We waited eight hours and it never kicked in. We were offered another room, but it would only be available for a portion of our stay. After several hours we decided to call Expedia to book another hotel. Expedia called the owner of Toploft. The room he previously offered was now available for the duration of our entire trip plus it had functioning AC. At 11 PM we had to pack up our belongings and move across the street to another unit. Extremely inconvenient. If you’re a tourist, this isn’t the property for you because the area is a far distance from main tourist locations. "

"Staff was fabulous! Room was large and comfortable. Old but updated farm hof from the 1930’s that is still owned by the same family. Breakfast was typical but ample and had a large variety. Coffee and eggs were on request and included. My wife ordered 2 soft boiled eggs. Both were perfectly cooke with rich orange yokes and a fabulous texture and taste. I give them an 11 on a 10 scale. "
