"Great location for peace and quiet and walking into and around abingdon. Rooms basic but nice, mattresses could be more comfortable but were acceptable and the breakfast great and plentiful. My second and definitely not last visit."

"The room was clean but the en-suite was old and dated. The bed was very comfortable and a fan was provided to help cool the room. The staff were excellent and helpful. Breakfast was also of a good quality and tasty with a good selection. The bar was good, typical of a town centre hotel bar."

"I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. Clean and comfy room and great location. Staff was great and helpful in every way! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again!"

Comfortable beds, and while the breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about, it was pleasant and filling. Nice to have that covered on our first day of the trip. This place isn’t anything fancy, but it was fine. Easy bus ride into city centre. Would recommend if looking for a good, basic option."

"Fantastic cosy room. Lovely shower , comfy bed. The check in is via phone and a key safe . The room was well stocked and very clean. Main problem is the doors to rooms don’t have quiet closing so when the ignorant other guests go in and out there is constant slamming of doors. We stayed in the room with exposed beams and it was very well thought out . Good for walking holiday due to location."

"We had booked three rooms out for ourselves and other family members. The property is in a brilliant location. There is no onsite service parking but free parking outside the front of the property. The entry instructions given were clear. All of the rooms had everything that you need in there. They are not very big rooms but big enough if only used to sleep in which is what we used it for.
