For those who might not be able to work it out, these reviews clatter between two extremes of the spectrum, which might lead you to suspect that one side of this spectrum is not telling the truth. I stayed here on a one night business trip as I needed to be in Norwich the next day. I wish I'd stayed a little further away as this hotel is not at all what it seems. It looks grand from the façade, but this is not where you stay. You stay in the "Lodge", it's a very cheap hotel, that sees fit to take a £100 breakages guarantee from your credit card when you arrive, I don't think the furniture in total is worth that much.
It's basic, and warm and clean, the front of house staff were very friendly but it's deceptive and that's why they're getting a bad review, it's a dishonest representation of the actual experience and by the time you've booked and paid, it's too late. I won't be fooled again and I urge you not to be fooled at all. Stay elsewhere until the representation on the site is of a budget hotel with very basic facilities, because that's what it is.
