"I booked Hotel Etambi last minute not doing enough research of Windhoek beforehand. It’s further out of the city (not to far but far enough) andnisnt in a great neighborhood. When I arrived (late at night) the property owner greeted me with a half desire to check me in. She told me it wasn’t safe to have my windows open at night even though it’s in a gated compound. The hotel is a little inconveniently located, though, and you'd need a car or to take taxis to get into the city centre.
