"It is the oldest private game preserve, and it shows. Wrinkled pictures in frames filled with dead bugs, the yard needs a serious clean. That being said the bar/dinner area is quite lovely. Game drive vehicles are ancient. (One hour drive is R450, which seems really steep). I stayed at one of the ‘chalets’. As basic as it gets. "I booked Hotel Etambi last minute not doing enough research of Windhoek beforehand. It’s further out of the city (not to far but far enough) andnisnt in a great neighborhood. When I arrived (late at night) the property owner greeted me with a half desire to check me in. She told me it wasn’t safe to have my windows open at night even though it’s in a gated compound. For the first 20 mins I couldn’t find the AC remote and it was 100 degrees, it took me 10 doorbell rings for the owner to hear and...
