"At first I thought “ what did I get myself into” because the hotel is old . But then quickly realized that it’s old but high quality hotel . Awesome staff members such as Sarah , Glen and maintenance guy Joseph . The property and its surroundings are AMAZING ! And a pleasure to explore the wilderness / suburbs settings along with the creativity of the town of Simsbury . Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby immediately. They have a park/ frog pond in back of 1820 Hotel along with walking trail and plenty of baby frogs . Room I had was very small but I still enjoyed the 4 day stay nonetheless. I appreciated that they have the cleaning crew closet door in hallway and did not lock it therefore I was able to grab the vacuum cleaner anytime I needed it which I enjoyed since I was traveling with my dog and he sheds a lot . They have a sister hotel named Simsbury Inn about 5 minutes away on same road, where you can use the gym/ and awesome in-ground swimming and in-ground Jacuzzi from early morning up until 10 PM. I had a very enjoyable time and was highly impressed not only with the town of Simsbury but also with Hotel 1820. "

"Comfortable stay , nice staff , plenty of parking , nice walkable neighborhood, nice breakfast spread , gym on sight , clean and if you want to go swimming in a awesome indoor pool with in ground jacuzzi they have a sister hotel named Simsbury Inn about 25 minutes away where you can attend free up until 10pm when it closes "
