Food and drinks in the bar were very good with a nice atmosphere The spa was very disappointing though as the pool was far too cold and most of the spa type features (jets etc) were not working. Also we mistakenly left an item in the room which the hotel staff told us was not handed in which is again very disappointing when staying at an upmarket hotel."

"Lovely spa, but housekeeping needs improvement Overall, we had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the spa facilities. The hotel has a lot going for it and we had a relaxing time. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. The room was not cleaned to the standard I would expect from a hotel and spa of this level, and the rooms themselves are starting to look quite tired and would benefit from refurbishment. It is a shame because with better attention to housekeeping and some investment in the bedrooms, this could be an excellent place to stay. We still enjoyed our visit, but the cleanliness really needs addressing."
