"My Thai wife and I stayed at the Diamond Park Inn a year ago and decided to return this year during a short visit to Chiang Rai. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and the hotel is very reasonably priced. It's not directly in the middle of the night plaza area, but still within walking distance, and it's quieter than right in the heart of that area. The pool is nice and the staff is friendly. Our room had a minor plumbing problem in the toilet when we checked in, but a maintenance man came...

Nice staff, nice pool and very good breakfast
"Nak Nakara is a very nice hotel, reasonably priced and has a great pool (though we were there during rainy season and only got to enjoy it for a couple of brief spells). The breakfast buffet was terrific, with a separate "egg station" that prepared omelettes, other types of eggs, and pancakes and waffles. (My only wish would have been to add mushrooms to the omelette choices, but the omelettes were done nicely.) A very friendly staff, and though our booking was originally for one night, we decided we liked the place well enough to add a second night, which I booked at the front desk and even got a bit of a discount (equal to about 400 baht) off what the first night cost. We come to Chiang Rai often enough that we'd definitely consider staying at Nak Nakara again."
