"Arrived at the property and called to check in. Was told that property was closed for refurbishment and I had to go to a different property managed by them 15 minutes away. Got there and room was minimal and bare. Host was nice but it wasn’t an aparthotel as the original one was advertised as. I left and booked a night at a local Travelodge instead. "

""Please tell me how we access your property" Phone call 10 min later: "sorry, we don't do one night stays - due to people arranging parties. What was your plan?" Well of course in the booking (done more than 2 weeks prior) I told them 2 adults and 2 children - hardly a recipe for a party. Nothing anywhere on the advert says anything about the restrictions. And Hotel.com processed the reservation without any hesitation, apparently unaware of the self-imposed limitation. So I don't have any...

"A bizarre experience… Wasn’t able to actually stay at this property as I never received check-in instructions from the host. Unfortunately the host read and ignored my messages and emails as well as communications from the property manager (they weren’t much help either), for reasons unknown. Luckily hotels.com stepped in and gave me a full refund + a voucher for compensation."

"we received a warm welcome at reception, and also all of the members of staff we met were very friendly. the room was basic but clean, also cleaned during our 2 night stay, which we weren't expecting, everything worked as it should. A parking permit was issued and parking was very secure. Hotel about 10-15 minute walk to the train station with many shops and restaurants in-between. They don't offer breakfast but the lady at reception pointed me in the direction of a hotel a few minutes away where being a guest here allows you to get a breakfast there for a few pounds. We chose the Cranbrook because of its cheap price and close to a tube station. All in all for the price you pay it was well worth it"
