"Everything was great but the third bed arrangement. We were a couple with my mother in law as the third guest and the bed arrangement for her was really not suitable for an 86 yr old"

Clandeboye Lodge Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful place, nice accommodations, helpful staff, and nice restaurant with really good food. Short drive from Belfast, nice to be in the country!"
Astala Guesthouse
10/10 Excellent
"Realy nice guest house, in which I had a lovely big room with a harbour view. Parking was convenient and easy. Breakfast was fine for me, if a bit basic - no hot options (which aren't my thing but many people like). The Hotels.com listing suggests there is a bar - I think there is benind a shutter but I saw no sign of it being open at any point. (It might have been opened if I'd asked perhaps - but it wasn't a big deal for me anyway.) But overall, a very pleasant and good-value stay, right on the Bangor waterfront."

8.8/10 (8 reviews)
Thought to be some 800 years old, St. Nicholas’ Church stands in the centre of town, a place of tranquillity amid the bustling streets of Carrickfergus. The accepted story behind the church is that it was built in the late 12th Century by John de Courcy, the Anglo-Norman knight who had a reputation for establishing churches and abbeys during his rule.
