Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"All was good other than the fact that we could hear the people in the next room clearly, and they were not talking loudly. I have recently come back from a long trip where we were in a different hotel every night, and this was by far the worst as far as clearly hearing everything happening in the next room."
Fairmont Chateau Whistler

"I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and this is the first time that I felt it was showing its age. We had a few issues this time round. I should highlight that the staff responded to issues we had quickly but it was disappointing to find things not working. The faucet fell off the shower within 5 mins of getting the room. We needed someone to come in and fix it. The door on the mini fridge did not close so nothing got really cold. The hotel also had issues with the elevators while we were there. The parkade elevator stopped working entirely and we made the mistake of parking and then unloading. There were no signs that it was out of order and the concierge was unaware( I assume because he didn’t tell us). And all but one of the main hotel elevators stopped working when we checked out. This resulted in long line-ups and many irritated people. We ended up carrying our bikes downstairs because of the wait. Not sure what was happening. The staff were present and trying to direct ppl but it was still a bit chaotic. The breakfast buffet had long wait times to get in. We opted out because of that. We went to Portobello instead and the breakfast sandwich I had was inedible. The sausage was as stiff as my car tire. We were refunded for the breakfast and the staff were again very accommodating but it was still disappointing given the wait times, etc. All in all, a disappointing stay."
