"The sea view was absolutely lovely, the bed was comfortable and the hotel itself has some really nice features. However, there are areas of the hotel that are looking quite tired and in need of some attention. Our room, for example, had a large section of plaster missing from the wall above the window. When you’re paying good money for a hotel stay, you expect the room to be maintained to a decent standard, and this really let it down. I also think the spa charges need to be made much clearer. From my messages with the hotel, it sounded as though the £40 charge was per stay, but it is actually charged per day. This meant an additional £40 on top of the room rate for just a one-night stay. I think it would be much fairer and clearer to either include spa access in the room rate or offer a one-off charge per night, rather than charging guests daily. As it stands, it feels a little misleading and leaves you feeling as though you’re not getting good value for money. I’ve visited the spa before and do think it’s nice, but even that feels like it’s missing something and could benefit from a bit of investment. Overall, while there were some lovely aspects to our stay, I didn’t feel that I got value for money. The hotel has potential, but it needs some updating, maintenance and attention to detail to justify the prices being charged. It’s a shame, as with a little more care and investment it could be a much better experience.."

"The hotel is beautiful, right on the seafront, parking is easy and costs just £2.50 per 24 hours. There are some lovely communal areas to sit with the most amazing views. I didn’t pay for a sea view and I wish I had because our view was terrible, just looking at the back of some buildings. Breakfast was good although quite often you were waiting for things to be topped up. A very nice touch was a free coffee machine which was open for most of the day and it had very lovely hot chocolate! All in all an excellent stay"

"Great location (2 minute walk from train, taxi area). Short walk to beach. Near many restaurants. Great staff. Nice lobby. Good breakfast. Clean room and OK size. Just one thing was a bit odd, which was the bathroom, which seemed added to the room later, not part of it. It was clean and decent, but seemed like an RV bathroom somehow. Anyway, not a huge deal, it just keep me from giving the place 5 stars orherwise."
